APPROPRIATING $65,000 FROM THE REINVESTMENT ZONE N0. I FOR
CHANGE ORDER NO 3 PROVIDING FOR INCREASED LATERAL STABILITY
OF THE SEAWALL OVERLOOK AND STRUCTURAL MODIFICATIONS, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS'
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated $65,000 from the Reinvestment
Zone No. I for Change Order No. 3 providing for increased lateral stability of
the Overlook and structural modifications applicable to the Seawall Overlook
Park.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
appropriate the abovementioned funds at the earliest practicable date, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 15th day of January, 1985

Why was this change necessary? (If left off the plans and specif,cations, explain why.)
Unanticipated scour coupled with removal of concrete portion of seawall resulted In sheet
piles being displaced. The worh covered by this change order is to replace the sheet
piling and provide for additional structural support for the overlook
Now can slmilar changes be avoided In the future, 227e thorough investigation 00 5712
conditions and other design considerations
