AMENDING SECTION 53-152, STOPPING, STANDING 0R PARKING
NEAR HAZARDOUS OR CONGESTED PLACES, OF 1HE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS
5E0TION 1. Th51 Section 53-152 Stopping, Standing or parking
hazardous o congested places, of the Cade of Ordinances be amended e00
hereinafter read as follows.
The director of traffic engineering is hereby authorized to
designate by proper signs, placed in and along any public
street of the city where the stopping, standing or parking
of vehicles would create an especially hazardous condition
or would cause unusual delay to traffic. When such area 1s
designated area of a public street and not exceeding two
hundred fifty (250) feet in length along such hazardous or
congested portion of a city street or streets, such area so
signed shall be deemed a properly established no stopping,
o
standing or parking z within the traffic lane next
adjacent to the curb,and when such official signs are
erected, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in
any such designated place.
SECTION 2. If for any reason
on any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision ofthis ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final ,Judgment of a court of competent Jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose

publication one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi,
which publication shall contain the caption stating in summary the purpose of
the ordinance.
