AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH CLAUDE CHAPMAN
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. PROVIDING FOR SANITARY SEWER
SERVICE TO REMAINING UNSERVED LOTS IN THE LAKEVIEW ACRES
SUBDIVISION, APPROPRIATING 575,000, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT 09/31300 BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with Claude Chapman Construction Company, Inc. providing for sanitary
sewer service to remaining unserved lots in the Lakeview Acres Subdivision, all
as re fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents
on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof
by reference and according to the bid of Claude Chapman Construction Company,
Inc, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus
Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated 275,000 from the No. 250
Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an mergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings s0 that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
the 5th day of February, 1985.
