AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN 181090MENT TO THE
CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES WITH ENVIRONMENTAL
DISCIPLINES, INC. FOR PARKER PARK RECREATION CENTER
IMPROVEMENTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a
amendment to the contract for architectural services with Environmental
Disciplines, Inc for Parker Park Recreation Center Improvements, a substantial
copy of which amendment is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked
Exhibit "0".

Federal/States Grant Fund, Department 152, Pctivt ty 807.06, Code 502, 8th Year
Community Development Block Grant
SECTION 3. That upon wr tten request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
execute the abovementioned amendment at the earliest practicable date, such
finding Of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 12th day of February, 1985.

AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT
FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES

The City of Corpus Christi hereinafter called 9City9, and Environmental
Disciplines, Inc , hereinafter called "Architect., hereby agree to the
following amendment to the original Contract for Architectural Services dated
October 2, 1984, which was authorized by the Corpus Christi City Council by
the passage of Ordinance No. 1S490.
Article I, SEFV/CES TO BE PEPFONNm, Paragraph 9, of the aforesaid
contract is hereby amended to read as follows
A. A recreation building containing approximately 3,700 square feet.
Space allocations should include a large room suitable for meetings or social
activities, office space for a program director, arts and crafts room, public
restroows, kitchen and support facilities.
Article I, SERVICES TO BE PEFFONNO, the aforesaid contract is hereby
amended to add the following paragraph
C. A concessian facility of approximately 90 square feet located at the
existing bath house area and so arranged as to relate primarily to exterior
Article II, Section I, COST ESTIMATES, paragraph contract shall be
deleted and amended to read as follows
1. The City has $216,000 in funds available for the project,
generally $176,000 is allocated for the recreation building and 240,000 for
parking and concession facility. The design of each project shall be such
that the cost thereof will not exceed the amount allocated for its
construction, furthermore, it is understood that project cost includes
architectural fees, construction cost, print4ng, resident Inspection, testing
and prClanct contingencies.
2. Architect shall provide cost estimates through each phase of the
design of the project but does not guarantee the accuracy of such estimates,

Construction Documents so as to bring the cost within the project funds for no
additional fee.

Article II/, COMPENSATION, Paragraph A, FEES SCHEDB/E, of the aforesaid
original contract is hereby amended to a. the following paragraph
D. The City agrees to pay the Architect an additional fixed fee of Two
Thousand Nine Hundred and Seventy -eight Dollars ($2,978 00) an compensation
for the increased scope of work.
All Other terms and conditions of the original contract, executed by the
City and the Architect, not specifically addressed herein, shall remain in
full force and effect.
