A RESOLUTION
APPOINTING ARMANDO CHAPA AS CITY SECRETARY WITH AN ANNUAL
SALARY OF $43,000, A 0200 PER MONTH CAR ALLOWANCE, AND SICK
LEAVE AND VACATION BENEFITS CARRIED OVER FROM MR. 04444 0
EMPLOYMENT WITH THE JTPA; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS;
SECTION 1. The appointment of Armando Chapa as City Secretary by the
City Council is hereby declared and affirmed, with en
anual salary of $43,000,
a $200 per month carallowance, and sick leave and vacation benefits carried
over from Mr. Chapas employment with the JTPA. This appointment is to become
effective April 1, 1985, with an evaluation of the position in six months.
SECTION 2 That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of
efficient administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made
and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinancesrresolutions t three regular meetings so that this
resolution is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency
measure this the 26th day of February, 1985.

For the re set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings, 1/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it 55 introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
