AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH THE LERMA
COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION OF A GAZEBO, PICNIC TABLES A110
BARBE00E PITS AND TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CONCRETE SIDEWALK
THROUGH LOS ENCINOS PARK; APPROPRIATING $42,000; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
contract with The Lerma Company for installation of a gazebo, pccn,c tables, and
barbeque pits and the construction of a concrete sidewalk through Las 6001006
Park all as more fully set forth in plans and specifications and contract
documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all Of which are made a
part hereof by reference and according to the bid of The Lerma Company, said bid
being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated 217,157.01 from the No.
162-152-807.04, Code 502, Sixth Year Community Development Block Grant and
524,842.99 from the No. 162-152-807.07, Code 502, Ninth Year Community
Development Black Grant.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
memhers, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need, to
take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public Improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension Of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shalltake effect upon forst reading as an emergency measure this
the 5th day of March, 1985.
