AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF THE CITY

BUSINESS DISTRICT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of the City of Corpus
Christ for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi.
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all person wishing
to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi, inaccordance with proper notice to the public,
said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, March 12, 1985, at Regular
Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the
City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by
the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best
serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the
Cty of Corpus Christi and its citizens. en
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS.
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning an Corpus Christi -Padre Island Section 2,
Black 72, Lots 41A, 43A, 44, and 45; Block 71, Lots 100 through 22; Corpus
Christi -Padre Island Number 1, Block 1, Lots IA through 6A, Block 2, Lots lA
through 15A, Corpus Christi -Padre Island Mariner's Cay, Block 500, Block 501,

and 4R, Block 507, Lots 1 and 2; Black 512, Lot 1, a portion of Lot 2 (described
by metes and bounds below), Lots 3 and 4, Block 513, Lot 2; Corpus Christi -
Padre Island Section 1, Block 26. Lots 1A, 2A, and 3A, Block 27; Block 29, Block

and further described by metes and bounds as follows
Beginning ata paint, the N/E corner of said Lot 2, for the
N/E corner of this tract,
Thence S 01°17'27" W with the west R 0 W. line of 200 foot
wide Padre Island Drive, a distance of 85.00 feet to a
point, the S/E corner of this tract,
Thence N 88°42'33" W leaving said west R.O.W. line of Padre
Island Drive, across
said id Lot 2, a distance of 150.00 feet
to a point an its west boundary line, for the S/W corner of
this tract;
Thence N 01"17'27" E with said west line of Lot 2, a
distance of 85.00 feet to its N/W corner and the N/W corner

SECTION 3 That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be and the same 1s hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4 That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Carpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 2709 day of August, 1973, as amended from time
to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5 That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need far
efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances

or solutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance Is passed and
shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 12th day
of March, 1985

For the re set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or esolutions at three
regular meetings; I/Ne, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance orresolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
