AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF FRANCES
TARLTON FARENTHOLD BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE
TO A PORTION OUT OF SUBDIVISION 3 OF THE ORR TRACT OUT OF
THE R. W. RAYNE TRACT IN THE SOUTH BLUFF PORTION FROM "A-1"
APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT TO "AB" PROFESSIONAL OFFICE
DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of Frances Tarlton
Farenth0ld for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all person wishing
to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public,
said public hearing having beenheld on Tuesday, March 26, 1985, at regular
Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the
City of Corpus Christi, and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded andrr d, it was decided by
the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best
srve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the
City of Corpus Christi and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT ORDAINED 80 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set Out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion out of Subdivision 3 of the
Orr Tract out of the R W. Rayne Tract in the South Bluff Portion in the City of
Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, described by metes and bounds below, be
changed from "A-3" Apartment House District to "08" Professional Office
District
A portion of Subdivision 3, of the Orr Tract out of the R
W. Rayne Tract in South Bluff Portion of Corpus Christi, and
being described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at an iron pipe at the intersection of the W.
boundary line of Broadway and South boundary line of what is
designated as Survey 341 for the ME corner of this tract;
Thence, 5. 1°37'30" E. with said W boundary line of
Broadway 82.09 feet to an iron pipe at the intersection of
the West boundary line of Broadway and North boundary line
of Second Street or Park Avenue, for the SE corner of this
survey,

the same property conveyed by C. 0. Watson et x to H R.
Goles by deed datedMay 17, 1926, recorded on Vol. 165, Page
263, Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas; and being the
same property conveyed by Mary Kathryn Giles et v r to
Mrs. James R. Dougherty (beong the same person as Genevieve
Tarlton Dougherty) by deed dated February 28, 1958, recorded
in Vol 725, Pages 64-66, peed Records of Nueces County,
Texas, and being the same property devised to Frances
Tarlton Farenthold under the provisions of Article VII of
the Will of Genevoeve Tarlton Dougherty, deceased, and Item
Five of First Codocol to the Woll of Genevieve Tarlton
Dougherty, deceased, to all of which instruments and their
records reference os here made for the purposes
SECTION 3 That the official z nong map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4 That the Zonong Ordinance and Map of the Coty of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as mended from time
to tome, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewoth are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Councol
members, copy attached, to fond and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of Coty affaors bygranting the aforesaid moving
change, such fondong of an mergency os made and declared requiring
suspensoon of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take effect upon forst reading as an emergency measure this the 26th day
of March, 1985.

For the reasons
set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings, I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date It is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
