CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENTS BY THE CITY MANAGER,
PURSUANT TO THE CITY CHARTER, ARTICLE III, SECTION
3, OF IRMA CABALLERO, THOMAS M GORDON. AND HERBERT
CANALES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS
SECTION 1. That the appointments of (1) Irma Caballero to
the position of Director of Jobs Training, (2) Thomas M Gordon to
the position of Park Superintendent, and (3) Herbert Canales to the
position of Director of Libraries by the City Manager. pursuant to
the City Charter, Article III. Section 3, are hereby confirmed
SECTION 2 That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency
due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by making
the appointments as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made
and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rulea to
consideration and voting upon ordinances orresolutions atthree
regular meetings so that this resolution ispassed and shall take
effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this 2nd day of
April. 1985
