HomeMy WebLinkAbout18792 ORD - 04/16/1985TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH ALLIED STEEL AND WOOD FENCE COMPANY FOR THE DISMANTLING AND NEW CONSTRUCTION OF APPROXIMATELY 3,500 LINEAR FEET OF CHAIN LINK FENCE ALONG SARATOGA BOULEVARD; APPROPRIATING $30,000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Allied Steel and Wood Fence Company for the dismantling and new construction of approximately 3,500 linear feet of chain link fence along Saratoga Boulevard abutting the U.S. Navy's property at Cabaniss Field all as more fully set forth in plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Allied Steel and Wood Fence Company said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $30,000 from the No. 220 Street Bond Fund. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 16th day of April, 1985.
