AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH BRACCO
CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. FOR THE DEMOLITION OF EXPOSITION
HALL; APPROPRIATING $180,000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with Bracco Construction Co., Inc. for demolition of Exposition Hall
all as more fully set forth in plans and specifications and contract documents
on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof
by reference and according to the bid of Bracco Construction Co., Inc. said bid
being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $133,106.26 from the
No. 209 Convention Center Bond Fund, $2,197.74 from the No. 261 Coliseum Bond
Fund, and utilizing 1983-84 Revenue Sharing funds in the amount of $44,696 for a
total appropriation of $180,000.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the 30th day of April, 1985.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
