AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF EMPORIUM
GENERAL PARTNERSHIP BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE
TO A PORTION OF LOT 11, BLOCK 6, GARDENDALE, FROM "R -1B"
ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "B-1" NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS
DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of Emporium General
Partnership for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi.
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all person wishing
to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public,
said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, May 7, 1985, at Regular Council
meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of
Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by
the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best
serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the
City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion of Lot I1, Block 6,
Gardendale, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, further
described by metes and bounds below, be changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling
District to "B-1" Neighborhood Business District.
Field notes description of 0.455 acres (19,800.00 sq. ft.)
of land, being the northwest 66.00 feet of Lot 11, Block 6,
of the Gardendale Subdivision as recorded in Volume 8,
Page 21, of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas.
Being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a 5/8 inch iron rod found on the north
right-of-way line of Cain Drive for the most southerly
corner of this lot and the most westerly corner of Lot 11-A,
Block 6, of Gardendale No. 1 as recorded in Volume 49,
Page 26, of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas.

THENCE, N 61°00'40" W, 66.00 feet with said right-of-way
line to a point for the most southerly corner of Lot 12,
Block 6, of the Gardendale Subdivision and the most westerly
corner of this lot.
THENCE, N 29°00'00" E, 300.00 feet with the southeast line
of said Lot 12 to a point for a common corner of Lots 6, 7,
12, and the most northerly corner of this lot.
THENCE, S 61°00'40" E, 66.00 feet with the southwest line of
said Lot 7 to a 5/8 inch iron rod found for the most
northerly corner of said Lot 11-A and the most easterly
corner of this lot.
THENCE, S 29°00'00" W, 300.00 feet with the northwest line
of said Lot 11-A to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing
0.455 acres (19,800.00 sq. ft.) of land.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time
to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 7th day of
May , 1985.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule.
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
