DEVELOPMENT COMMISSI0N BYHE 1140 (2)S INESS MEMBERS, AND BOTHER
AMENDMENTS PERTAINING TO THE SUBJECT, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1. That SECTION 2-140 of DIV1510N 12 BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, of CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, of the City Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
The municipal industrial board, created by city charter
article V, section 13, shall be known as the Corpus
Christi Business Development Commission The
commission
hall consist of eighteen (18) voting
members, including the following six (6) ex officio
members.
(1) The city manager,
(2) The chairman of the Board of the Corpus
Christi Chamber of Commerce,
(3) The port director of the Port of Corpus
Christi Authority;
(4) Inc county judge of Nueces County,
(5) Oniversityent of Corpus Christi State
(6) The president of the Corpus Christi Area
Convention and Tourist Bureau.
Inc other twelve (12) members shall be residents of the city,

commission cil.shall be nominated by the mayor and confirmed by the
city council.

SECT109 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council Members, copy attached to find and declare anemergency due to the
need for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs by
amending the Cade as aforesaid, such finding of an
emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule asto consideration and
voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that
this ordinance is passedand shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the 14th day of May, 1985.

as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings, 1/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or
resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
