ACCEPTING THE CONTRACT WITH GARRETT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR
RUNWAY 17-35 DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS AND SURFACE CORRECTIONS
AND AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT OF $82,236.47; GRANTING THE
CONTRACTOR A 28 -DAY EXTENSION DUE TO WET WEATHER, AND
ADDITIONAL WORK TO SUPPLEMENT 60 CALENDAR DAYS ALLOTED, FOR
A TOTAL OF 88 DAYS; APPROPRIATING $4,618.85 OUT OF NO. 245
AIRPORT BOND FUND FOR FINAL PAYMENT TO GARRETT CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY AND GULF COAST TESTING LABORATORY, INC.; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the contract with Garrett Construction Company for
Runway 17-35 Drainage Improvements and Surface Corrections be accepted and that
final payment of $82,236.47 is authorized.
SECTION 2. That the contractor is hereby granted a 28 -day extension
due to wet weather, and additional work to supplement 60 calendar days alloted,
for a total of 88 days.
SECTION 3. There is hereby appropriated $4,618.85 out of the No. 245
Airport Bond Fund for additional funds to facilitate final payment to Garrett
Construction Company and Gulf Coast Testing Laboratory, Inc. in connection with
the Runway 17-35 Drainage Improvements and Surface Corrections Project.
SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
appropriate the abovementioned funds at the earliest practicable date, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 28th day of May, 1985.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule

or at the present meeting of the City Council.
