HomeMy WebLinkAbout18879 RES - 06/11/1985A Resolution WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need for housing for the elderly and handicapped in its Housing Assistance Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council has supported the construction of assisted housing to satisfy this need; and WHEREAS, the Hialco OIC Housing Assistance, Inc. has requested to purchase the property described as Lots 5, 6, 7, and 8, Block 57, Bluff Addition to the City as recorded in Volume A, pages 2 and 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; and WHEREAS, the City deems such site to be surplus: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: surplus. SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby declares said site to be SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby reaffirms its intention to sell the hereinabove described site to Hialco OIC Housing Assistance, Inc. at a price not to exceed $18,500, contingent on Hialco OIC Housing Assistance receiving Federal assistance for the development of Housing for the Elderly and Handicapped on said site. SECTION 3. That the City Secretary be instructed to advertise in accordance with applicable State laws. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate need for the effective and efficient administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this resolution is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the llth day of June, 1985.
