AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC, SECTION 53-254, SCHEDULE V -
INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES, AND SECTION
53-255, SCHEDULE VI, DECREASE OF STATE LAW MAXIMUM SPEED;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 53-254, Schedule V - Increase of state speed
limit in certain areas, of Chapter 53, Traffic, is here y amended as follows:
Adding the following sections:
Aquarius Drive:
From Commodores Drive to Whitecap Boulevard -- 35
m.p.h. -- At all times.
Commodores Drive:
rom Park Road 22 to Aquarius Drive -- 35 m.p.h. -- At
all times.
Sea Pines Drive:
From Park Road 22 to the west city limit line -- 35
m.p.h. -- At all times.
Whitecap Boulevard:
From Windward Drive to Isabella Court -- 40 m.p.h. --
At all times.
Windward Drive:
From Whitecap Boulevard to St. Bartholomew Avenue -- 35
m.p.h. -- At all times.
deleting the following sections:

SECTION 2. That Section 53-255, Schedule VI - Decrease of state
law maximum speed, of Chapter 53, Traffic, is hereby amended as follows:
Adding the following section:
Bayfront Landmass Service Roads:
Coopers Alley L -Head, Lawrence Street T -Head, and
Peoples Street T -Head -- from North Shoreline Boulevard
and including the circulation roads within and
surrounding the public parking lots -- 15 m.p.h. -- At
all times.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
