HomeMy WebLinkAbout18899 ORD - 07/02/1985• • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 18206 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: George Evans School Area, Phase I 1. North Alameda Street, from Laredo Street to Comanche Street, 2. Mussett and Caldwell Streets, from Brownlee Boulevard to North Staples Street, 3. Lowell, Mexico and Josephine Streets, from Mussett Street to Caldwell Street, and 4. Sam Rankin Street, from Mussett Street to Comanche Street. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 18206, passed and approved May 2, 1984, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following streets: George Evans School Area, Phase I 1. North Alameda Street, from Laredo Street to Comanche Street, 2. Mussett and Caldwell Streets, from Brownlee Boulevard to North Staples Street, 3. Lowell, Mexico and Josephine Streets, from Mussett Street to Caldwell Street, and 4. Sam Rankin Street, from Mussett Street to Comanche Street. a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this 03P.079.01 i MICROFILME[ • ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 2nd day of July, 1985. North Alameda Street, from Laredo Street to Comanche Street, 2. Mussett and Caldwell Streets, from Brownlee Boulevard to North Staples Street, 3. Lowell, Mexico and Josephine Streets, from Mussett Street to Caldwell Street, and 4. Sam Rankin Street, from Mussett Street to Comanche Street. These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a 6" standard curb and gutter section and a 6" compacted subgrade, 10" com- pacted claiche base and 2" Type "D" Hot Mix asphaltic pavement on North Alameda, Caldwell and Mussett streets. A 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted caliche base and 11" Type "D" Hot Mix asphaltic pavement will be constructed on Lowell, Mexico, Josephine and Sam Rankin streets. The streets will be constructed within the existing right-of-ways to the various widths shown below. There will be 4' or 5' wide rein- forced concrete sidewalks 4" thick and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways as shown on the plans. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the City's latest paving policy. Based on this policy and the bid prices submitted by A.
