HomeMy WebLinkAbout18945 ORD - 07/30/1985• AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE GOLDSTON ENGINEERING REPORT RECOMMENDING REPAIR OF TWO DIESEL ENGINES; AUTHORIZING GOLDSTON ENGINEERING TO PROCEED WITH PHASE II OF ITS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT; APPROPRIATING $5,000 OUT OF THE NO. 295 STORM SEWER BOND FUND, PROVIDING FOR REPAIR PARTS FOR TWO PUMP STATION ENGINES AND SHIPPING CHARGES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 295-77-2.1, DOWNTOWN PUMP STATION A; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Goldston Engineering report recommending repairs and modifications to two diesel engines in Downtown Pump Station A be accepted. SECTION 2. That Goldston Engineering be and is hereby authorized to proceed with Phase II of its professional services contract providing for preparation of specifications and supervision over repair of these engines. SECTION 3. That there is hereby appropriated $5,000 out of the No. 295 Storm Sewer Bond Fund providing for repair parts for two pump station engines and shipping charges applicable to project No. 295-77-2.1, Downtown Pump Station A. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to appropriate the abovementioned funds at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 30th day of July, 1985.
