HomeMy WebLinkAbout18993 ORD - 08/27/1985• AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE CONTRACT WITH COTTEN-LANDRETH ARCHITECTS FOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING WORK ON THE WEST CONCOURSE EXTENSION AND HOLDROOM AT CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO PROVIDE FOR AN EXPANDED SCOPE OF WORK AND ADDITIONAL ARCHITECTURAL FEES; APPROPRIATING $68,098; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 2 to the contract with Cotten -Landreth Architects for design and engineering work on the West Concourse Extension and Holdroom at Corpus Christi International Airport (previously amended by Ordinance No. 18701 on February 19, 1985) which amendment provides for an expanded scope of work and additional architectural fees, all as more fully described and set forth in the Amendment to the Architectural Contract Agreement, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $68,098 from the No. 245 Airport Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 245-81-2, Ticket Wing Expansion. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of executing the abovementioned amendment at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 27th day of August, 1985. ATTEST: 01462 - City Secretary MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS APPROVED: 264-4 DAY OF AUGUST, 1985 Assist tTty A for y' 04P.047.01 1s993MICROFIItiED • AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES ON THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT THE STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF NUECES 5 The City of Christi Christi hereinafter called "City", and Cotten/Landreth Architects, Inc., hereinafter called "Architect", hereby agree to the following amendment to the agreements for Architectural Services dated February 22, 1984 and March 4, 1985, which were authorized by the Corpus Christi City Council by the passage of Ordinance No. 18906 and Ordinance No. 18701 respectively. Article I, SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED, of the aforesaid agreement dated March 4, 1985 is hereby amended to add the items of work as follows: (H) EXTERIOR CANOPY AND FRONT IMPROVEMENTS. The project consists of a new north exterior treatment of the Terminal Building, including alternatives for a partial and a full canopy along the front of the building and related graphics. (I) MAIN ENTRANCE SIGN. Project consists of the design of the exterior lighted entryway sign at Highway 44 with the budget for this item being approximately $40,000. (J) MASTER PLAN FOR AIRPORT TERMINAL. Project consists of the development of a comprehensive plan which shall include, but not be limited to, the relationship of the proposed improvements to the long term Terminal Plan; airport "Trends" projection; future needs to year 2000; phasing of future additions; estimated costs projections; and proposed future Terminal location. Article III, Section I, Order of Services, of the aforesaid agreement dated March 4, 1985 is hereby amended by adding the following three (3) projects to the paragraph (2) (a) contract "A": EXTERIOR CANOPY AND FRONT IMPROVEMENTS, AND MASTER PLAN FOR AIRPORT TERMINAL Article III, Section I, Order of Services, of the aforesaid agreement is hereby amended to add the following paragraph: (c) CONTRACT "C" consists of the Main Entrance Sign. Time frame: Schematic Design, 14 days; Construction Documents, 21 days. Time frame begin from date of approval of this amendment. Article III of the aforesaid agreement dated March 4, 1985 is hereby amended to add the following paragraph: K. Airport Consultant. Architect agrees to retain and use the services of Steven Bruebaker of H0K Architects, as Airport and Transportation Consultant to collaborate with architect specifically in developing a Master Plan for Airport Terminal. Article IV, FEE, of the aforesaid agreement dated March 4, 1985 is hereby amended to add the following paragraph to the Section A, Fees for Basic Services; The City will pay the architect an additional fixed fee of Sixty Eight Thousand, Ninety -Eight and No/100 ($68,098.00) of which $41,296.00 is allocated for the Landscaping project; $28,000.00 for the Exterior Canopy and Front Improvements Project; $5,200.00 is allocated for the Main Entrance Sign; and the remaining $34,898.00 for the Master Plan for Airport Terminal. These fees will be full and total compensation for all services. All other terms and conditions of the original contract and of the aforesaid agreement dated March 4, 1985, executed by the City and the Architect, not specifically addressed herein, shall remain in full force and effect.
