HomeMy WebLinkAbout19015 ORD - 09/17/1985AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-140 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADD THE PRESIDENT OF THE MEXICAN -AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AS AN EX -OFFICIO MEMBER TO THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 2-140 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas be and is hereafter amended to read as follows: "Section 2-140. Name, Membership, Chairman. The municipal industrial board, created by City Charter Article V, Section 13 shall be known as the Corpus Christi Business Development Commission. The Commission shall consist of nineteen (19) voting members, including the following seven (7) ex officio members: (1) the City Manager; (2) the Chairman of the Board of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce; (3) the Port Director of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority; (4) the County Judge of Nueces County; (5) the President of Corpus Christi State University; the President of the Corpus Christi Area Convention and Tourist Bureau; and the President of the Mexican -American Chamber of Commerce." (6) (7) The other twelve (12) members shall be residents of the city, nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, and shall serve terms of two (2) years. The chairman of the Commission shall be nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. SECTION 2.
