HomeMy WebLinkAbout19026 ORD - 09/24/198535.43.03 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 18512 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: Furman School Area, Phase II 1. llth Street, from Morgan Avenue to Morris Avenue, 2. 12th Street, from Craig Street to Morris Avenue, and 3. Craig, Buford, Hancock and Coleman Streets, from 10th Street to Brownlee Boulevard. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 18512, passed and approved October 16, 1984, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following streets: 1. llth Street, from Morgan Avenue to Morris Avenue, 2. 12th Street, from Craig Street to Morris Avenue, and 3. Craig, Buford, Hancock and Coleman Streets, from 10th Street to Brownlee Boulevard. a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 24th day of September, 1985. Craig, Buford, Hancock and Coleman Streets, from 10th Street to Brownlee Boulevard. These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a standard 6" curb and gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted caliche base and 11" Type "D" Hot Mix Asphaltic pavement. There will be 4' or 5' wide reinforced concrete sidewalks and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways constructed as shown on the plans. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving policy adopted by the City. Based on this policy and the low bid prices submit— ted by Backhoe Lease Service, the assessment rates are as follows: 28' Wide Street, BOC 6" Curb, Gutter & Pavement Sidewalk Driveways Bid Price $13.86 L.F. $ 1.63 S.F. $ 3.51 S.F.
