AN ORDINANCE
TERMINATING A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH GULF COAST AVIATION
APPROVED BY ORDINANCE NO. 18100 FOR NON-COMPLIANCE WITH THE
LEASE TERMS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Gulf Coast Aviation and the City of Corpus Christi of Corpus
Christi entered into a lease agreement for fixed base operations at Corpus
Christi International Airport approved by Ordinance No. 18100; and
WHEREAS, Gulf Coast Aviation has failed to make improvements and pay
rentals as specified in the lease agreement; and
WHEREAS, Gulf Coast Aviation has been given advance written notice of
the aforesaid defaults and has failed or refused to cure such defaults;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the lease agreement with Gulf Coast Aviation for
fixed base operations at Corpus Christi International Airport approved by
Ordinance No. 18100 is hereby terminated because of Gulf Coast Aviation's
non-compliance with the lease agreement to make improvements and pay rentals.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the desire of
the City Council to terminate the abovementioned lease agreement at the earliest
practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or
resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall
take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 8th day of
October, 1985.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
