HomeMy WebLinkAbout19041 ORD - 10/08/1985• • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF NIXON WELSH, JIM GUNN, AND BILL OGLETREE BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OUT OF LOT D, EDWIN FARM LOTS FROM "A-1" APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT AND "R-2" MULTIPLE DWELLING DISTRICT TO "B-1" NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Nixon Welsh, Jim Gunn, and Bill Ogletree for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi. WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, October 1, 1985, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion out of Lot D, Edwin Farm Lots, further described by metes and bounds below, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "A-1" Apartment House District and "R-2" Multiple Dwelling District to "B-1" Neighborhood Business District: Description of 1.835 acres of land, more or less, being a portion of Lot D, Edwin Farm Lots, a map of which is recorded in Volume 22, Page 54, of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, said 1.835 acres as further described by metes and bounds as follows: O4P.127.O1 BEGINNING at a point in the East right-of-way line of Cliff Maus Drive which bears S 00°17'14" W, 4.17 feet, more or less, from the point of intersection of said East right-of-way line of Cliff Maus Drive and the Southeast right-of-way line of Old Brownsville Road, said beginning point for the Northwest corner of this tract; 19041 MICROFILMED • THENCE S 89°26'50" E 383.57 feet, more or for the Northeast corner of this tract; THENCE S 54°20'15" W, 165.00 feet, more or for an interior corner of this tract; THENCE S 00°17'14" W, 196.14 feet, more or for the Southeast corner of this tract; less, to a point less, to a point less, to a point THENCE N 89°26'50" W, 250.00 feet, more or less, to a point in said East right-of-way line of Cliff Maus Drive for the Southwest corner of this tract; THENCE, N 00°17'14" E, along said East right-of-way line of Cliff Maus Drive 293.63 feet, more or less, to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 8th day of October, 1985.
