AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE DATA PROCESSING BUDGET TO INCREASE THE
APPROPRIATION BY $213,741.60 IN REVENUE FROM THE SALE OF
SURPLUS COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND APPROVING EXPENDITURES OF
APPROXIMATELY $134,700 TO PAY OFF THE LEASE OF THE SURPLUS
EQUIPMENT AND $65,025 FOR THE PURCHASE OF EIGHT MEGABYTES OF
ADDITIONAL MEMORY FOR THE CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Data Processing budget is hereby amended by
increasing the appropriation by $213,741.60 in revenue from the sale of surplus
computer equipment to Sutton Equipment Marketing (SEM) and approving
expenditures of approximately $134,700 to pay off the lease of the surplus
equipment and $65,025 for the purchase of eight megabytes of additional memory
for the central processing unit which has a total price of $100,000 with the
remainder of the cost to come from the Data Processing Budget. The funds
remaining after purchase of the CPU upgrade, approximately $14,000, are to be
appropriated to the Data Processing Reserve Fund.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 15th day of October, 1985.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at thrLe
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
