HomeMy WebLinkAbout19068 ORD - 10/22/1985AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC, BY AMENDING SECTION 53-254, SCHEDULE V - INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Code, Section 53-254, Schedule V - Increase of State Speed Limit in certain zones, of Chapter 53, Traffic, is here y amended by deleting the following sections: Leopard Street (S.H. 9): From Crosstown Expressway (S.H. 286) southbound frontage road to a point 180 feet east of Oak Park Avenue - 35 MPH - At all times. From a point 180 feet east of Oak Park Avenue to a point 250 feet west of Navigation Boulevard - 40 MPH - At all times. From a point 250 feet west of Navigation Boulevard to a point 300 feet west of Corn Products Road - 45 MPH - At all times. Flour Bluff Drive: From South Padre Island Drive to Purdue Road - 45 MPH - At all times. From Purdue Road to Yorktown Boulevard - 50 MPH - At all times. and by adding the following sections: Leopard Street (S.H. 9 Business): From Crosstown Expressway (S.H. 286) southbound frontage road to Garfield Street - 35 MPH - At all times. 04P.139.01 From Garfield Street to Lexington Boulevard - 40 MPH - At all times. From Graham Road to So. Padre Island Drive for the northbound direction of travel only - 40 MPH - At all times. From So. From Ramfield Road to Yorktown Boulevard for the southbound direction of travel only - 40 MPH - At all times. Wooldridge Road: From So. Staples Street to Rodd Field Road - 35 MPH - At all times. SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3.
