HomeMy WebLinkAbout19128 ORD - 12/31/1985TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A COMPUTER SYSTEM FOR THE BAYFRONT PLAZA CONVENTION CENTER FROM AT&T INFORMATION SYSTEMS; APPROPRIATING $9,529; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That approval is hereby granted for the purchase of a computer system, a breakdown of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A", for the Bayfront Plaza Convention Center from AT&T Information Systems, the lowest bidder, for a total of $27,528.65. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated an additional $9,529 from the No. 209 Community Convention Facility Bond Fund, Project 209-76-1.3, Convention Center Equipment. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of authorizing the purchase of the abovementioned computer system at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 31st day of December, 1985. In addition, AT&T Information Systems agrees to provide free of charge to the City: The services of John Mulligan, technical consultant and UNIX specialist, to load all programs, to ensure correct operation, and to train Convention Center personnel in operation. Training shall take place at the Convention Center and shall be limited to five man -days. Additional training may be required on software design and set-up on the informix package. This particular training, if desired by the purchaser, shall tat place at either the purchaser's or the vendor's site and shall be limited to three man -days. Programming support as discussed between John Mulligan and John Meyer to transition data in between t e applications; BACS = informix = Crystalwriter. The source code and other documentation shall also be provided. An 800 number shall be available as a hotline to respond to questions concerning problems with the system management and software for a period of ninety (90) days. Support in this area must be available to the customer (City) after the ninety (90) day period. Vendor shall state price for such service in accordance with bid requirements. Hardware support and guarantee shall be for 90 days. There shall be a maximum response time for service of four (4) hours after notification by the City. Support in this area must be available in this area after the 90 day period. Vendor shall state price for such service in accordance with bid specifications. Full and Completed Documentation. Documentation shall include all operations and technical manuals available on all software and hardware. II. Vendor, AT&T Information Systems, shall have available to the City hardware and software maintenance and support after the ninety (90) day period. The costs for these services shall be valid as follows for the first year after the 90 day period expires. $148.00/Month for Business Day Service; five days per week, 8 AM to 5 PM; on site. $236.80/Month for Around -The -Clock Service; 7 days per week, 24 hours per day; on site. $100.00/Hour for Customized Programming Work.
