AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS WITH LIBRARY BUREAU,
INC., FOR LIBRARY CASEWORK INSTALLED IN PLACE, WITH YOCHEM'S
FOR LIBRARY FURNITURE INSTALLED IN PLACE, AND WITH G.
MADISON COMPANY FOR METAL SHELVING AND MISCELLANEOUS
FURNITURE INSTALLED IN PLACE; APPROPRIATING $345,415; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
contracts with Library Bureau, Inc., in the amount of $105,687 providing for
library casework installed in place, with Yochem's in the amount of $150,849 for
library furniture installed in place and with G. Madison Company in the amount
of $88,879 for metal shelving and miscellaneous furniture installed in place.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $345,415 from Fund 111,
Dept. 000, Revenue Activity 243.51, Object Code 000, Library Trust Account.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of
executing the abovementioned contracts at the earliest practicable date, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 7th day of January, 1986.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
