AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH CORPUS CHRISTI
LAND VENTURE, INC., FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE SANITARY SEWER
TRUNK MAIN FROM THE LIFT STATION ON FLOUR BLUFF DRIVE SOUTH
OF PURDUE ROAD TO THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE DON PATRICIO
SUBDIVISION; APPROPRIATING $408,000; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Acting City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute a a contract with Corpus Christi Land Venture, Inc., for the extension
of the sanitary sewer trunk main from the lift station on Flour Bluff Drive
south of Purdue Road to the western portion of the Don Patricio Subdivision, all
as more fully set forth in plans and specifications and contract documents on
file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by
reference and according to the bid of Corpus Christi Land Venture, Inc., said
bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $408,000 from the
No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund of which $339,600.40 is for the contract award
and $68,399.60 is for additional engineering, contingencies and incidental and
related expenses applicable to Project No. 250-82-5.1, Don Patricio Sanitary
Sewer Improvements.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of
executing the abovementioned contract at the earliest practicable date, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 14th day of January, 1986.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
