SUBJECT MULTICULTURAL CENTER BOND FUND APPROPRIATION REQUEST
The Multicultural Center has been in full operation for three
months. During that time several needs have become evident:
I. SAFETY AND SOUND CONTROL:
A. A carpet runner is needed for slick wooden stairs.
This will be secured properly and will provide the
added benefit of muffling sound.
B. An additional railing on the wall opposite the stair
bannister is required for visitor/staff safety.
C. Four large area rugs, properly secured, will break up
slick areas of waxed floors in the main part of the
house and provide acoustical improvement.
II. FURNITURE RESTORATION:
Corpus Christi Museum has provided the center with
period furniture. The museum has received estimates
on furniture restoration.
III. WINDOW DRESSING:
Currently the center has no drapes on windows.
Drapes are needed on the first floor in order to
protect furniture from damaging sunlight and to
improve acoustics.
