ORDERING THAT THE BOND ELECTION CALLED BY ORDINANCE THIS
DATE BE HELD ON APRIL 5, 1986, JOINTLY WITH THE CORPUS
CHRISTI JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT REGENTS ELECTION, THE CORPUS
CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TRUSTEES ELECTION
(SINGLE MEMBER DISTRICTS I, III, AND IV) AND THE WEST OSO
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TRUSTEES ELECTION; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi is desirous of
conducting the bond election for April 5, 1986 be held with the Corpus Christi
Junior College District Regents election, the Corpus Christi Independent School
District Trustees election (Single Member Districts I, III, and IV) and the West
Oso Independent School District Trustees election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE' CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the bond election called by ordinance this date be
held on the 5th day of April, 1986, jointly with the Corpus Christi Junior
Distrielection, Corpus

SECTION 3. The fact that it is necessary and essential that for
economic efficiency elections be held jointly and that all the requirements of
State Law as to special elections as to posting and publishing and absentee
voting be timely met, creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such an emergency and necessity
exist, having requested the suspension ,of the Charter rule and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from its passage, it is according so ordained this
the 18th day of February, 1986.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
