AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH JALCO, INC. FOR
THE SLIPLINING OF A SECTION OF CONCRETE SANITARY SEWER
TRUNKLINE UNDER SOUTH PADRE ISLAND DRIVE IN COORDINATION
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WITH THE SPID IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIATING $261,000; AND
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with Jalco, Inc. for the sliplining of a section of concrete sanitary
sewer trunkline under South Padre Island Drive in coordination with the SPID
Improvements, all as more full
contract documents on file in the office set foftthe City h in aSecretary, allns and specifications ande
made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Jalco, Inc.of which are
being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.

SECTION 2. That there is hereby .appropriated $261,000 from the
No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund of which $242,042 is for the contract award and
$18,958 is for contingencies, additional engineering, testing and incidental and

members, ECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
