HomeMy WebLinkAbout19221 ORD - 03/04/1986TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $2,147,000 OUT OF COMMUNITY -CONVENTION FACILITY BOND FUND FOR PURPOSES RELATED TO THE WATER GARDEN AND PARKING FACILITY PROJECT IN THE BAYFRONT ARTS AND SCIENCE PARK; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated $2,147,000 from the Community -Convention Facility Bond Fund No. 209-76-1.3 including reappropriation of $64,000 previously appropriated by_Ordinance No. 18447 passed and approved by the City Council on September 4, 1984, for purposes related to the Water Garden and parking facility project in the Bayfront Arts and Science.Park including architectural and engineering services, demolition, geotechnical investigation, testing, advertising, inspection, contract administration, building construction, site improvements, utility installations and relocating, equipment, furniture, graphics, landscaping, bond issuance expense, financial administration expense and contingencies, and providing for reimbursement of the Community -Convention Facility Bond Fund No. 209-76-1.3 in the amount of $1,073,500 by the Foundation for Science and Arts upon completion of construction and for reimbursement of $1,073,500 from the Convention Center Improvements activity of the Tourist and Convention Fund as appropriated in the annual budget. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to appropriate the abovementioned funds at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 4th day of March, 1986.
