TEXAS:
AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO OSHKOSH TRUCK
CORPORATION FOR . THE PURCHASE OF ONE CRASH/FIRE/RESCUE
VEHICLE FOR THE AIRPORT; APPROPRIATING $208,105; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That there is hereby authorized the award of a contract
to Oshkosh Truck Corporation for the purchase of one crash/fire/rescue vehicle
for the Airport, all as more fully set forth in plans and specifications and
contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are
made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Oshkosh Truck
Corporation said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of
Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $208,105 of which
$160,000 is a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration and $48,105 is from
the Airport Bond Fund.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs by awarding the
aforementioned contract at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the 18th day of March, 1986.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
