HomeMy WebLinkAbout19243 RES - 03/25/1986RESOLUTION HONORING THE MEMORY OF DR. FRED A. CERVANTES FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS AND SERVICE TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND ITS CITIZENS. Cervantes served as an ideal of good 1 the citizens of Corpus Christi; and he gave generously of his time to build a future for citizens while serving as an educator, as Vice Chairman 90, as a member of the Committee of 16, as a member of ty Committee, and other community activities too numerous WHEREAS, he played an important role in maintaining communication and promoting unity among all segments of the community; and WHEREAS, he earned the respect, admiration and love of the Corpus Christi City Council and citizens of Corpus Christi. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS THAT: SECTION 1: The memory of Dr. Fred A. Cervantes is hereby honored by this resolution as an expression of our eternal gratitude to his wife, Rosa Marie, and family for sharing him with us. SECTION 2: That upon written request of the Mayor and eight Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the desire of the Council to express its support and intent at the earliest practical date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension 4., of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this resolution is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 25th day of March, 1986.
