AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE, ARTICLE 30, CHANGES AND
AMENDMENTS, SECTION 30-4, TO REQUIRE PUBLICATION ONE TIME OF
A ZONING PUBLIC NOTICE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT, ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance, Article 30, Changes and
amendments, Is hereby amended by amending Section 30-4 to hereafter read as
follows:
Section 30-4 A public hearing shall' be held by the City
Council before adopting any proposed supplement, amendment
or change. Notice of such hearing shall be given by
publishing one time in the official publication of the City
of Corpus Christi, stating the time and place of such
hearing, which time shall not be earlier than fifteen (15)
days from the first day of such publication.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the 8th day of April, 1986.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
