AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH T. GARZA
CONSTRUCTION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS IN THE
VICINITIES OF WEST OSO HIGH, OAK PARK ELEMENTARY, ANNAVILLE
ELEMENTSCHOOL; APPROPRIATING CALALLEN UNIOR $37,206.81; ANAND KE HIGH
DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with T. Garza Construction for the construction of sidewalks in the
vicinities of West Oso High, Oak Park Elementary, Annaville Elementary, Calallen
Junior High and Baker Junior High Schools, all as more fully set forth in plans
and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City
Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the
bid of T. Garza Construction said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to
the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $37,206.81 from the
No. 220 Street Bond Fund of which $30,469.00 is for the contract award and
$6,737.81 is for contingencies, additional engineering, testing and incidental
and related expenses applicable to Project No. 220-82-11.2, School Sidewalk
Program, Phase II.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the

immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
the 22nd day of April, 1986.
