AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF THE ESTATE
OF BLANCHE DAVIS MOORE BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN
REFERENCE TO TRACTS 2 AND 3, OUT OF LOTS 9 AND 10,
SECTION 3, FLOUR BLUFF AND ENCINAL FARM AND GARDEN TRACTS,
FROM "R-16" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT ON TRACT 2 AND
"R-2" MULTIPLE DWELLING DISTRICT ON TRACT 3 TO "B-4" GENERAL
BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of the Estate of Blanche
Davis Moore for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi.
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing
to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public,
said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, April 29, 1986, at regular
Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the
City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by
the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best
serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the
City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
2. That the
Tracts 2 and 3
in
Section 3,SFlourrNBluff and EncinalnFarmon and Garden Tracts,out in the Cofoity 9ofaCorpuus
Christi, Nueces County, Texas, further described by metes and bounds below, be
changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling District on Tract 2 and "R-2" Multiple
Dwelling District on Tract 3 to "B-4" General Business District:

of Gardendale Addition No. 3 for the Northwest corner of Lot

found at the intersection of the West right-of-way line of
South Staples Street with said North boundary of Gardendale
Addition No. 3 bears South 60°58'57" East 590.56 feet;
THENCE North 61°02'00" West, along the North boundary of
Gardendale Addition No. 3, a distance of 660.34 feet to a

Addition No. 3, a map of which is recorded in Volume 12,
Page 59 of said Map Records for the North corner of Lot 12,
Block 11, said Gardendale Addition No. 3 and the West corner
of this tract;
THENCE North 28°52'21" East 300.00 feet, more or less, to an
inside corner of this tract;
THENCE North 60°58'27" West 30.00 feet, more or less, to a
corner of this tract;
THENCE North 28°52'21" East 65.00 feet to the North corner
of this tract;
THENCE South 60°58'27" East 660.00 feet, more or less, to a
point on the centerline of South Staples Street for the East
corner of this tract;
THENCE South 29°04'12" West, along said centerline, 365.00
feet, more or less, to the South corner of this tract;

SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time
to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
change, efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
