HomeMy WebLinkAbout19336 ORD - 05/27/1986AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH CJB CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE AIRPORT TERMINAL EXPANSION AND CONCOURSE EXTENSION PROJECT; APPROPRIATING $3,129,197.48 AND AUTHORIZING $26,517 FROM THE AIRPORT RESERVE APPROPRIATION FOR A TOTAL OF $3,155,714.48; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with CJB Construction, Inc. for the Airport Terminal Expansion and Concourse Extension Project, all as more fully set forth in plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of CJB Construction, Inc., said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $3,129,197.48 from the Airport Bond Fund and authorizing $26,517 from the Airport Reserve appropriation for a total sum of $3,155,714.48 of which $597,735 is applicable to Project No. 245-82-1, West Concourse Holdroom and Related Improvements, including Entry Road Modifications and Carpeting of the East and West Concourse; $1,490,000.48 if applicable to Project No. 245-82-2, Terminal Expansion and Related Improvements; $44,065 is applicable to Project No. 245-85-5, Air Conditioning; $996,837 is applicable to Project No. 245-86-18, Service Court Expansion, Roof Replacement, HVAC Gas Absorption Unit, Exterior Canopy and Related Improvements; and $26,517 is applicable to Project No. 245-82-19, Tower Cab HVAC and Window Defogger; and declaring an emergency. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 27th day of May, 1986.
