HomeMy WebLinkAbout19349 RES - 06/10/19860 I A RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER, HIS DESIGNEE OR THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO LIQUIDATE, SELL OR OTHERWISE TRANSFER ANY AND ALL INTEREST OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI IN BONRAY DRILLING CORPORATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi has acquired certain shares of common stock in Bonray Drilling Corporation; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Corpus Christi to liquidate, sell or otherwise transfer said stock. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Acting City Manager Ernest Briones, his designee or the Director of Finance, Juan Garza, or their successors in office are hereby authorized and directed to liquidate, sell or otherwise transfer or dispose any and all interest of the City of Corpus Christi in the common stock of Bonray Drilling Corporation for the use and benefit of the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate need for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 10th day of June, 1986.
