AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE, ARTICLE 27, SUPPLEMENTARY
HEIGHT AREA AND BULK REQUIREMENTS; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended by amending
Article 27, Supplementary Height and Bulk Requirements, Section 27-3, by adding
a new Subsection 27-3.06.03 to read as follows:
27-3.06.03 No application for a zoning change from a
residential classification ("R -E," "R -A," "R -1A," "R -1B,"
"R -1C," "R-TH," "R-2," "A-1," "A -1A," "A-2") to a business
classification ("AT," "AB," "B-1," "B -2A," "B-2,", "6-3,"
"B-4," "B-5," "B-6," "I-1," "I-2," "I-3") shall be accepted
pertaining to any property consisting of less than 7,500
square feet and having less than one hundred (100) feet of
frontage on a public street. If several lots, or portions
thereof, from a previously legally platted subdivision are
to be combined to accumulate the required square footage
and/or street frontage, a recorded replat of the combined
lots and/or portions thereof into one lot shall be required
prior to passage of the ordinance effectuating the zoning
change from the residential classification to the business
classification.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient and effective administration of City affairs by amending the zoning
ordinance as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is
passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the
5th day of August, 1986.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
