AMENDING CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC, SEC. 53-254, SCHEDULE V -
INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 53, Traffic, Sec. 53-254, Schedule V -
Increase of state speed limit in certain zones, is hereby amended by deleting
the following sections:
AIRPORT ROAD
From a point 670 feet southwest of the intersection of
Airport Road and Morgan Avenue to a point 100 feet south of
Navajo Street -- 40 MPH -- At all times.
KOSTORYZ ROAD
From Staples Street to Holly Road -- 35 MPH -- At all times.
From the north right-of-way line of Holly Road to Saratoga
Boulevard -- 45 MPH -- At all times.
STAPLES STREET
From Holly Road to Wooldridge Road -- 40 MPH -- At all
times.
From Wooldridge Road to Saratoga Boulevard (city limits) --
45 MPH -- At all times.
WALDRON ROAD
From So. Padre Island Drive to Blossom Street -- 40 MPH --
At all times.
From Blossom Street to Purdue Road -- 40 MPH -- At all
times.
and in lieu thereof adding the following sections:
AIRPORT ROAD
From the north right-of-way line of Horne Road to a point
1,100 feet north of Horne Road -- 35 MPH -- At all times.

From a point 70 feet south of Navajo Street the south
right-of-way line of Agnes Street -- 35 MPH -- At all times.

From Staples Street to a point 500 feet south of White Bird
Drive -- 35 MPH -- At all times.
From a point 500 feet south of White Bird Drive to the north
right-of-way line of Saratoga Boulevard (S.H. 357) -- 40 MPH
-- At all times.
STAPLES STREET
From the south right-of-way line of Texas Avenue to the
south right-of-way line of Burnham Drive -- 35 MPH -- At all
times.
From the south right-of-way line of Burnham Drive to a point
550 feet south of Wooldridge Road -- 40 MPH -- At all times.
From a point 550 feet south of Wooldridge Road to a point
1,200 feet south of the south right-of-way line of Saratoga
Boulevard (South City Limit) -- 45 MPH -- At all times.
WALDRDON ROAD
From the south right-of-way line of So. Padre Island Drive
to the south right-of-way line of Compton Road -- 35 MPH --
At all times.
From the south right-of-way line of Compton Road to the
north right-of-way line of Purdue Road -- 40 MPH -- At all
times.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.

a. Airport Road
Decrease the speed limit
from 40 MPH to 35 MPH from
Horne Road to a point 1,100

from 30 MPH to35 MPH from
a point 70 feet south of Nava-

b. Kostoryz Road
