AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 17418 PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL ON THE 29TH DAY OF DECEMBER 1982 SO AS TO CHANGE THE
COMPOSITION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE REINVESTMENT
ZONE NO. 1 TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: THREE MEMBERS OF THE
CITY COUNCIL CONSISTING OF THE MAYOR, MAYOR PRO TEM, AND THE
COUNCIL MEMBER FROM THE DISTRICT IN WHICH THE REINVESTMENT
ZONE LIES (DISTRICT 2); AND ONE MEMBER FROM EACH OF THE
FOLLOWING ENTITIES: NUECES COUNTY COMMISSIONER'S COURT,
CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND DEL MAR
JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT FOR A TOTAL OF SIX MEMBERS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 17418 passed and approved by the City
Council on the 29th day of December 1982 is hereby amended so as to change the
composition of the Board of Directors of the Reinvestment Zone No. 1 to include
the following: three members of the City Council consisting of the Mayor, Mayor
Pro Tem, and the Council member from the district in which the Reinvestment Zone
lies (District 2); and one member from each of the following entities: Nueces
County Commissioner's Court, Corpus Christi Independent School District, and Del
Mar Junior College District for a total of six members.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, parhgraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in
substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon
such publication.
