AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF H.C. AND
H.A. KAFFIE BY GRANTING A SPECIAL COUNCIL PERMIT FOR A
RESTAURANT ON LOT 1, BLOCK 1, J.D. BERNARD, AND THE EAST
ONE-HALF OF THE NORTH 86 FEET OF BLOCK 4, RAYNE TRACT; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of H.C. and H.A. Kaffie,
for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing
to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public,
said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, September 16, 1986, at regular
Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the
City of Corpus Christi; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That a Special Council Permit be granted on Lot 1,
Block 1, J.D. Bernard and the east one-half of the north 86 feet of Block 4,
Rayne Tract, further described by metes and bounds, situated in the City of
Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, for a restaurant, according to the site
plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked
Exhibit "A", and subject to all other considerations of "A-1" Apartment House
District.
FIELDNOTES for a 0.44 acre tract, more or less, consisting
of Lot 1, Block 1, John D. Bernard Addition, as recorded in
Volume 112, Page 430, Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas,
and the east one-half of the north 86 feet of Block 4, Rayne
Tract, as recorded in Volume 50, Page 352, Deed Records of
Nueces County, Texas, (not based on an on the ground
survey).
BEGINNING at a point on the West boundary line of South
Carancahua Street (60.00 feet wide) for the Northeast corner
of Lot 1, Block 1, and the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE South 02°20'30" East, along the said West boundary
line, 49.10 feet more or less, for an angle point of this
tract;

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three

and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
