AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH BILL N.
JOHNSON, INC. FOR PILING REMOVAL ON CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH AND
PILING REPLACEMENT IN THE CITY MARINA; APPROPRIATING
$20,750; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with Bill N. Johnson, Inc. for piling removal on Corpus Christi Beach
and piling replacement in the City Marina
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $20,750 from the No. 291
Park Bond Fund and that there is authorized $2,000 from the 1986-87 Marina
Operating Budget for a total of $22,750 for the contract award applicable to
Project No. 291-86-44.2.1, Corpus Christi Beach Piling Removal and Marina Piling
Replacement.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of
executing the abovementioned contract at the earliest practicable date, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed'and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the 23rd day of September, 1986.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three

and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
