AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH CLAUDE CHAPMAN
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION OF
SANITARY SEWER LATERAL LINES IN FLOUR BLUFF DRIVE, LYNHURST,
WOODCREST, SENTINEL, ORANGE, CRESTMONT, SUNNYCREST AND PECAN
STREETS IN THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE DON PATRICIO
SUBDIVISION; APPROPRIATING $486,000; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
contract with Claude Chapman Construction Company providing for the installation
of sanitary sewer lateral lines in Flour Bluff Drive, Lynhurst, Woodcrest,
Sentinel, Orange, Crestmont, Sunnycrest and Pecan Streets in the western portion
of the Don Patricio Subdivision, all as more fully set forth in plans and
specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City
Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the
bid of Claude Chapman Construction Company said bid being the lowest and most
advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $486,000 from the
No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund of which $441,870.95 is for the contract award
and $44,129.05 is for engineering, contingencies and incidental and related
expenses applicable to Project No. 250-86-44-6.1, Don Patricio Laterals.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take
immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the
construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three

and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
