HomeMy WebLinkAbout19583 ORD - 12/23/1986AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF LAKE PADRE LTD. BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OF PADRE ISLAND, SECTION G, FROM "A-1" APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT TO "B -2A" BARRIER ISLAND BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Lake Padre Ltd. for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi. WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, December 23, 1986, at regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on a portion of Padre Island, Section G, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, and further described by metes and bounds below, be changed from "A-1" Apartment House District to "B -2A" Barrier Island Business District: 08P.212.01 Being 8.24 acres of land, more or less, out of a portion of Padre Island, Section G, a map of which is recorded in Vol. 50, Pages 61-64, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at the intersection point of south right-of-way line of the 100 foot wide Whitecap Boulevard and the east right-of-way line of the 50 foot wide Tortugas Avenue; THENCE south 88°43'30" east, 565 feet, along the north boundary line of this tract; 19583 MICROFILMED THENCE south 1°16'30" west, 38.39 feet to the beginning of the curve to the right; THENCE along the same curve to the right having a radius of 1458.44 feet, a central angle of 4°40'46", a distance of 119.11 feet; THENCE south 63°59'46" east, 473.03 feet; THENCE south 26°00'14" west, 60.00 feet; THENCE south 63'59'46" east, 152.70 feet to the southeast corner of this tract; THENCE north 88°43'30" west, 1218.35 feet to a point of intersection with the east right-of-way of 50 foot wide Tortugas Avenue; THENCE north 01°16'30" east, 400.00 feet along the east right-of-way of 50 foot wide Tortugas Avenue, to the point of beginning and containing 8.24 acres of land more or less. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspens'on of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or reso utions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is pa sed and shall a effec upon fir,�tt reading as an emergency measure this the/. day of , 19 5b .
