AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CITY CODE, ARTICLE X, DIVISION 4, SECTION 2-274,
OFFICERS, SO AS TO CHANGE THE METHOD OF APPOINTMENT OF THE
SISTER CITY SUBCOMMITTEE CHAIRMAN; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Code, Article X, Division 4, Section 2-274,
Officers, be amended to hereafter read as follows:
The officers of the Committee shall consist of a General
Chairman, Vice Chairman for each of the Sister City
subcommittees established in accordance with Section 2-272
and a Secretary and/or Treasurer. Each officer shall be
appointed from among the membership of the Steering
Committee. The General Chairman shall be appointed by the
City Council and shall be authorized to appoint the vice
chairman or co-chairman for each Sister City subcommittee.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the 1? -1-N day of , 7elrutuy , 19E7 .

or at the present meeting of the City Council.
