AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 19405 ADOPTING THE CURRENT CITY
BUDGET; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 19405 adopting the current City budget
is hereby amended as follows:
(1) The Police Lieutenant position established for Police
Activity No. 211-515.12 (Training) is deleted and a
Captain position substituted therefor.
(2) The number of senior officer positions in Police
Activity No. 211-515.12 (Training) is reduced from 4 to
3.
(3) The number of senior officer positions in Police
Activity No. 211-515.41 (Uniform) is increased from 143
to 144 and the number of police officer positions in
said activity is reduced from 37 to 36.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
