HomeMy WebLinkAbout19646 ORD - 02/18/1987AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 19295 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREET: Furman School Area, Phase III 1. 14th Street, from Buford Street to Morris Avenue; 2. 15th Street, from Craig Street to Morris Avenue; 3. 16th Street, from Morgan Avenue to Craig Street; 4. Craig, Buford, Hancock, and Coleman Streets, from Crosstown Expressway to Brownlee Boulevard; and 5. Mary Street, from 17th Street to 19th Street. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 19295, passed and approved May 6, 1986, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following street: Furman School Area, Phase III 1. 14th Street, from Buford Street to Morris Avenue; 2. 15th Street, from Craig Street to Morris Avenue; 3. 16th Street, from Morgan Avenue to Craig Street; 4. Craig, Buford, Hancock, and Coleman Streets, from Crosstown Expressway to Brownlee Boulevard; and 5. Mary Street, from 17th Street to 19th Street. a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passe and shall tae__ffgct upon firs�jeading as an emergency measure this the 5 day of yy�Qh,LI�) , 19 ATTEST: City Secretary APPROVED:, DAY 0 HAL GEORGE, CITY ATTORNEY MAYOR THE CITOF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 1947 By ssistant City 03P.067.01 19646 MICROFILMED Final Assessment Roll Furman School Area, Phase III Street Improvements The Furman School Area, Phase III Street Improvements shall include improvements to the following streets: Furman School Area, Phase III 1. 14th Street, from Buford Street to Morris Avenue; 2. 15th Street, from Craig Street to Morris Avenue; 3. 16th Street, from Morgan Avenue to Craig Street; 4. Craig, Buford, Hancock, and Coleman Streets, from Crosstown Expressway to Brownlee Boulevard; and 5. Mary Street, from 17th Street to 19th Street. These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a 6" standard curb and gutter section, a compacted subgrade, a 7" lime stabilized subbase, a 6" compacted caliche base and 111" Type "D" Hot Mix asphaltic pavement. The streets will be constructed 28' and 36' in width within the existing right-of-way. There will be 4' or 5' wide reinforced con- crete sidewalks, 4" thick and .6" thick reinforced concrete driveways as shown on the plans. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the City's latest paving policy.
