HomeMy WebLinkAbout19684 ORD - 03/13/1987AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH HELDENFELS BROTHERS, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE RIVERSIDE PARK SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIATING $207,000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Heldenfels Brothers, Inc. for the construction of the Riverside Park Sanitary Sewer Improvements, all as more fully set forth in plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Heldenfels Brothers, Inc., said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $207,000 from the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund of which $179,934 is for the contract award and $27,066 is for additional engineering, contingencies and related expenses, applicable to Project No. 250-86-44-8.1, Riverside Park Sanitary Sewer Improvements. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take �-of- #ect upon fir t reading as an emergency measure this the,3I/1day of f1/1a�1 ►"1 , 19.
